SPIPA was established by the Government of Gujarat in 1962 as the apex Training Institution of the state. The Institute was renamed as Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration in 1974. It became on autonomous body (spipa Ahmedabad) in October 2004, so as to gain that essential flexibility in fulfilling its role and meeting the expectations of the State Government.

how to get admission in spipa?
Every year they conduct entrance exam. The syllabus for the entrance is similar to GPSC prelim exam but not that much extensive level. You need some serious preparation to crack this exam. Read news paper daily, clear your basics from school level mathematics, English, Gujarati, practice of essay writing. Mostly NCERT books will help you so much in this preparation.
